Enter the 2026 Toyota Highlander
Performance
Toyota designed the new Highlander with SUV drivers in mind. The powertrain is just part of the equation, with the potential to generate 362 horsepower and a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. when properly equipped. All that’s left is to upgrade the drivetrain for improved traction in uncertain road conditions. The Highlander also offers the following:
- Power-assisted, ventilated 13.3-in. front disc brakes; solid 13.3-in. rear disc brakes and Star Safety System™
- Stop and Start Engine System (S&S)
- Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Technology
There are options aplenty for technology in the new Toyota Highlander. Aside from setting safety benchmarks for the rest of its class, the Highlander also leads the way in infotainment. Learn more about what the Highlander has to offer technology-wise here:
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD)
- Anti-theft system with alarm and engine immobilizer
- Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD with Driveline Disconnect; Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) with dial
Design
Drivers and passengers alike should take pride in the SUV that’s carrying them to their destination. The Highlander houses 97.5 cu ft of total cargo space — what you do with it is up to you. As spacious as it is visually pleasing, the Highlander is an achievement that any passenger can admire. Some other design features for you to consider are:
- High Solar Energy-Absorbing (HSEA) glass on front side windows
- 10-in. color Head-Up Display (HUD) with speedometer and Road Sign Assist (RSA)
- Smart Key System on front doors and liftgate with Push Button Start
